Sanjay Kumar Behera

PhD Student (at RRI since August 2013)

PhD thesis work: The structure and dynamics of soft colloidal glasses

MSc (University of Hyderabad, Hyderabad)

Email: sanjay[at]rri.res.in

Sanjay has performed some elaborate chemistry and synthesized NiPAM thermoreversible gels
and Janus (patchy) particles in our laboratory. He has worked on the glass transition in the
PNIPAM suspensions that he synthesized (email us the preprint). To read Sanjay's recent RRI
newsletter article, please click here.

Dr Paramesh Gadige

PhD Physics (Indian Institute of Science)

Postdoctoral fellow (at RRI since November 2015)

Project title: Aging in glassy suspensions and supercooled liquids, dielectric spectroscopy; etc.

Email: paramesh[at]rri.res.in

Paramesh has been working on setting up dielectric spectroscopy in the lab. For his very
recent manuscripts on glassy PNIPAM suspensions and the computation of dynamical
hetergoneities in glassy clay suspensions, please email us.

Chandeshwar Mishra

PhD student (at RRI since August 2016)

MSc (Physics): Dr. RML Avadh University, Faizabad

Project title: Studies of the glass transition using suspensions of thermoreversible core-shell

colloidal particles

Email: chandeshwar[at]rri.res.in

Chandeshwar is synthesizing core-shell particles and is using dense aqueous suspensions of these
to understand the approach of soft glassy materials towards kinetic arrest.

Rajkumar Biswas

PhD student (at RRI since August 2016)

MSc (Physics): IIT Guwahati

Project title: Aging and rheology of soft glassy materials

Email: rajkumar[at]rri.res.in

Rajkumar is studying the motion of a ball inside a thixotropic liquid and the rheological properties
of kaolinite clay.

Palak

PhD student (at RRI since August 2016)

MSc (Physics):

Project title: The rheology of dense suspensions

Email: palak[at]rri.res.in

Palak is working on the dynamics of dense non-Newtonian suspensions and on the interfacial
instabilities in fluids restricted to confined geometries.

Riddhika Mahalanabis

Research Assistant (at RRI since January 2018)

MSc (Physics): Jadavpur University, Kolkata

Project title: Driven suspensions of active and passive particles near their jamming transitions.

Email: riddhika[at]rri.res.in

Riddhika is synthesizing and characterizing active particles and studying the effects of activity on the jamming transition. She is also performing rheo-dielectric studies on suspensions of some passive colloidal particles.
